StreamIQ – Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the StreamIQ website, software platform, and services (collectively, the “Platform”), operated by StreamIQ [StreamIQ], registered in the Republic of South Africa.

By accessing or using StreamIQ, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.


1. Definitions

  • “StreamIQ”, “We”, “Us”, “Our” refers to the Platform operator.

  • “School”, “Client”, “Institution” refers to the educational institution using the Platform.

  • “User” refers to administrators, staff, parents, or learners granted access by a school.

  • “Services” refers to the school management services provided by StreamIQ.

  • “AI Management System” refers to the optional artificial intelligence-powered features offered as an add-on service.


2. Scope of Services

StreamIQ is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform designed to assist schools with administrative management, academic records, communication, and related functions.

Core Platform Access:

  • The StreamIQ school management system is 100% free to use.

  • Schools receive full access to all core platform features at no cost.

StreamIQ provides the technology infrastructure only. Schools remain fully responsible for:

  • Academic decisions

  • Learner assessments

  • Financial management

  • Compliance with education regulations


3. Account Registration and Authority

By registering for StreamIQ, you confirm that:

  • You are authorised to act on behalf of the School

  • All information provided is accurate and current

  • You will ensure compliance by all Users under your account

Each School is responsible for all activity conducted under its account.


4. Payments and Optional AI Subscription

4.1 School-to-Parent Payments (Third-Party Gateways)

StreamIQ does not process, collect, hold, or manage payments made by parents or learners to schools.

Schools may independently integrate third-party payment gateways, including:

  • Stripe

  • Flutterwave

  • Paystack

  • Razorpay

Key Clarifications:

  • Schools use their own payment gateway accounts and APIs

  • StreamIQ has no access to school payment credentials

  • StreamIQ is not a party to parent–school transactions

  • All disputes remain the responsibility of the school


4.2 AI Management System (Optional Subscription)

StreamIQ offers an optional AI Management System as an add-on service.

  • Cost: R2,000 per month (ZAR)

  • Includes: Full access to all AI features

  • No hidden fees

  • Subscription is optional and not required to use the core platform

The AI Management System may include automation, insights, and intelligent tools designed to enhance school operations.


5. Refund Policy

5.1 Core Platform

  • The core StreamIQ platform is free; therefore, no fees apply.

5.2 AI Management Subscription

  • AI subscriptions are billed monthly.

  • Fees are non-refundable once the billing period has commenced.

5.3 Exceptions

Refunds may be considered at StreamIQ’s discretion in cases of:

  • Proven system-wide failure

  • Errors directly attributable to StreamIQ

  • Legal or regulatory requirements


6. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Platform, including software, content, branding, and documentation, remain the exclusive property of StreamIQ or its licensors.

Schools are granted a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the Platform.


7. Data Protection and POPIA Compliance

7.1 Roles Under POPIA

  • Schools are the Responsible Parties

  • StreamIQ acts as an Operator

7.2 Data Processed

  • Learner academic and personal data

  • Parent/guardian contact details

  • Staff information

  • System logs

7.3 Children’s Information

Schools must:

  • Obtain proper consent

  • Ensure lawful processing

StreamIQ applies enhanced security measures.

7.4 Security Measures

  • Secure hosting

  • Role-based access

  • Restricted internal access

  • Two-Factor Authentication

  • Continuous monitoring

7.5 Data Retention

Data is retained only as necessary and then securely deleted or anonymised.


8. Parent and Learner Usage Terms

Users agree to:

  • Use the Platform for school purposes only

  • Keep login credentials secure

  • Act lawfully and respectfully

Parents acknowledge:

  • Schools control all data

  • StreamIQ does not determine academic outcomes


9. Acceptable Use

Users must not:

  • Bypass security

  • Upload unlawful or harmful content

  • Disrupt system performance

  • Reverse engineer the Platform

StreamIQ may suspend access for violations.


10. Availability and Limitations

  • Services are provided “as is” and “as available”

  • Downtime may occur due to maintenance or external factors


11. Limitation of Liability

StreamIQ is not liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential damages

  • School decisions

  • Incorrect data provided by schools


12. Indemnification

Schools agree to indemnify StreamIQ against claims arising from:

  • Unlawful data processing

  • Failure to obtain consent

  • Misuse of the Platform

  • Payment disputes with third parties


13. Amendments

StreamIQ may update these Terms. Continued use constitutes acceptance.


14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by South African law.
