This Privacy Policy explains how StreamIQ [ StreamIQ ] (“StreamIQ”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you access or use the StreamIQ platform and website (collectively, the “Platform”).

  • Schools and educational institutions using StreamIQ

  • Administrators, educators, staff, parents, and learners accessing the Platform

  • Visitors to the StreamIQ website

This policy applies only to information collected through the Platform and does not apply to information collected offline unless explicitly stated.


2. Legal Roles Under POPIA

For purposes of POPIA:

  • Schools are the “Responsible Parties” and determine the purpose and means of processing personal information.

  • StreamIQ acts as an “Operator”, processing personal information only on the documented instructions of schools.

StreamIQ does not independently determine how learner or parent data is used.


3. Personal Information We Process

3.1 Information Provided by Schools

StreamIQ may process the following categories of personal information as supplied and controlled by schools:

Learners (Children):

  • Names and surnames

  • Dates of birth

  • Student or admission numbers

  • Grade, class, and academic records

  • Attendance data

  • Behavioural or disciplinary records (if enabled by the school)

Parents / Guardians:

  • Names and surnames

  • Contact details

  • Relationship to learner

  • Communication records within the Platform

Staff and Administrators:

  • Names and surnames

  • Contact details

  • Job roles

  • Login credentials (securely stored)


3.2 Information Collected Directly by StreamIQ

StreamIQ may collect limited information directly, including:

  • Account registration details for schools

  • Support communications

  • Technical and usage data (IP address, device type, browser, timestamps, logs)

This information is used strictly for platform operation, security, and support.


4. Children’s Personal Information

StreamIQ processes children’s personal information solely on behalf of schools for educational purposes.

  • Schools are responsible for obtaining parental or guardian consent

  • StreamIQ does not use learner data for marketing or profiling

  • Enhanced security measures are applied to protect children’s information


5. Purpose of Processing

Personal information is processed to:

  • Provide and operate the StreamIQ platform

  • Enable school administration and communication

  • Maintain system security and performance

  • Provide customer support

  • Meet legal and contractual obligations

StreamIQ does not sell personal information.


6. Payments and Financial Information

StreamIQ does not process or store payment information related to school fees or parent payments.

  • Schools independently process payments using third-party gateways such as Stripe, Flutterwave, Paystack, or Razorpay

  • StreamIQ does not access school payment gateway credentials

  • StreamIQ is not a party to parent–school financial transactions

StreamIQ only processes payment information relating to subscription fees paid by schools for StreamIQ services.


7. Data Sharing and Third Parties

StreamIQ may share personal information with trusted third-party service providers solely to:

  • Host infrastructure

  • Deliver emails or notifications

  • Monitor system performance

  • Process payments to StreamIQ (schools only)

All third parties are contractually required to comply with POPIA and apply appropriate safeguards.


8. Cross-Border Data Transfers

  • Fulfil contractual obligations

  • Provide services to schools

  • Comply with legal requirements

Data is securely deleted or anonymised once no longer required.

Data subjects have the right to:

  • Request correction or deletion

  • Object to processing under certain conditions

  • Withdraw consent where applicable

  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa

Requests should be directed to the school, as the Responsible Party, or to StreamIQ where applicable.


12. Parent and Learner Privacy

Parents and learners access StreamIQ through their school.

  • Schools control what information is visible and shared

  • StreamIQ does not determine academic outcomes or disciplinary decisions

  • Privacy-related requests regarding learner data must be directed to the school


13. Website Cookies and Analytics

StreamIQ may use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Improve user experience

  • Analyse platform usage

  • Enhance security

Users may disable cookies through browser settings.


14. Updates to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.

Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
